October 22, 2001: Next month's general membership meeting will be held on November 15 at the Ramada Inn on W Clairemont. This meeting the the Annual Food Drive. October 22, 2001: The 3rd Quarter Sold Books should be arriving on or about October 31.

October 15, 2001: The MLS Committee moved to cancel the bi-weekly books as of February 2002. We received written commitment to purchase only a total of 30 books, not the minimum purchase of 50 that is needed to renew the contract. This cancellation of bi-weekly books DOES NOT affect the quarterly Sold books. Cancellation does not have to be submitted to Risco until November 1 so if any broker has changed his/her mind, please fax a revised commitment to the MLS office at 715/835-4621 prior to that date.

October 4, 2001: Don't miss the Jim Imhoff Seminar on Wednesday, October 24 regarding the Future of Real Estate, including a Real Estate Board update. Cost is $10.00 through October 17, $12.00 after October 17. Call the Board office for registration information.

October 4, 2001: Plan to attend the general membership meeting on Thursday, October 18 at the Midway Motor Lodge. Mark Ploederer and Diane Sherman from Wisconsin DOT will present information on Trans 233, the state statute regulating driveway access to state highways. This is important information for anyone involved in creating a subdivision or dividing land parcels. Exact cash or a check made payable to RACV for $7.50 will help speed up the check-in process.

September 20, 2001: The 2002 Membership Dues Statements have been mailed. Please note that the "I have completed NAR requirements for Quadrennual Ethics Training......" sentence on the front of the statement is explained in the top paragraph on the reverse side. The $20.00 Other charge is also explained in the second paragraph on the back of the statement. Please keep in mind that while the dues are for 2002, they are payable by October 31. This allows the Board office to process the dues at the local level, forward them on WRA for state processing, and then on to NAR. The "lead" time for payment makes sure your membership remains intact and no services to you are interrupted.

September 11, 2001: Our congratulations to the following Realtors receiving awards at the Installation Banquet this coming Friday evening: Rod LaRose, Realtor of the Year; Eau Claire Press Company, Affiliate of the Year; and Dave Engedal, Board Service Award.

August 30, 2001: The Board/MLS office will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 3. May you each have a safe, happy holiday weekend.

August 30, 2001: It has been brought to our attention that several offices are incorrectly entering data into Fields #19 & 20: CV CNTY & NW CNTY. CV CNTY contains counties in its pulldown menu typically found in the Chippewa Valley area. NW CNTY contains counties in its pulldown menu typically found in the Northern Waters area. If listings are not in the CV area but are in the Northern Waters area (example: Barron), N/A should be entered in Field #19 and Barron in Field #20. Listings in the CV area (example: Dunn-Pepin) should have Dunn-Pepin entered in Field #19 and N/A in Field #20. At no time should a listing contain N/A or Other in both fields. Please make every effort to enter the data correctly
