The Realtors Association of the Chippewa Valley was originally chartered in 1921 as the Eau Claire Board of Realtors.  The Board changed its name to the Eau Claire-Chippewa Board of Realtors when Chippewa County became part of the Board's jurisdiction.  In 1997, the Dunn-Pepin Board dissolved and joined the newly renamed Realtors Association of the Chippewa Valley.  The Realtors Association of the Chippewa Valley now has over 500 members and has jurisdiction in Eau Claire, Chippewa, Dunn and Pepin Counties.

Membership benefits in the Realtors Association of the Chippewa Valley include:

  • Education

The Association offers on-going education to help members keep current with new regulations and legislation impacting real estate.  The Association also offers classes on computer programs to help members adapt to new technology.  Prelicense classes are offered regularly for people planning a new career in real estate.

  • Political Involvement

An employee of the Association works with volunteer members to monitor legislative issues on the local level.  Members also serve on committees to interview candidates and make recommendations to the general membership for support of candidates.

  • Library

The Association has a collection of books, cassettes, and videos available at the Board Office for members to check out at no charge.

  • Meetings

General Membership meetings are held at noon on the third Thursday of most months. The meetings provide an opportunity for members to network in a relaxed atmosphere and hear a short presentation on a topic relating to real estate or the community.

  • MLS

The Realtors Association of the Chippewa Valley  is part of a regional MLS, Northwestern Wisconsin Multiple Listing Service. The Service has 196 offices, over 650 subscribers and covers 22 counties in northwestern Wisconsin.  The system is fully computerized and has information on about 5400 listings.  Listings are on two different Internet sites, tdre-online.com and realtor.com.

Realtor membership is limited to someone who is licensed as a salesperson or broker or is a licensed or certified appraiser.  Anyone seeking Realtor membership must complete an application, pay an application fee and dues and attend a one-day orientation.

Realtor membership in the local association also includes membership in the Wisconsin Realtors Association and the National Association of Realtors.  Affiliate membership is open to unlicensed individuals in a real estate-related profession.
